They live… again!

The new design is up and running now. There are still some features not implemented yet, though, but they’ll be up in the following days.

Robomeks (the characters) are in a transitional period and from now on you’ll see a series of pages (9, to be exact) where you’ll follow closely how they evolve and relate with each other. Expects some surprises on the way. Apart from the obvious change of format you’ll notice that they’re mute, like in mute cinema without the text boxes. I felt that dialogue wasn’t really needed and I’m sure you’ll all understand what’s happening around easily. For now you have the cover up there (yes, that’s a cover).

But, let’s back to the site itself. You’ve probably noticed already that some things have changed from the last version.

• “The three investigators” question marks on the header (I loved those books, tomato!). Why? Was that needed? Nope. Unless you want to be bombarded by a few minor spoilers just watching it. Just check that area from time to time. One day the secret (oh, the secret!) will be revealed.
• Storylines. That’s a neat feature that the awesome guys working on ComicPress and ComicPress Manager have created for the new version of CP. I couldn’t wait any longer and this site is using the latest beta, which includes this neat future. What does it do? It helps me keeping story archs organized and allows you to browse the pages of each chapter or part anytime with a single click, so you can start or keep reading from the part you choose to. It’s a better implementation than my old “Chapters” menu option, I think.
• New readers. This is one of the hot stuff in this version. Before, that “New reader” thing just directed you to the first page of Robomeks ever published. Now it gives you two things, a normal one and a cool one. The normal one: a brief summary of the world and the characters. The cool one: an in-depth summary of each single chapter or part that has been published so far. The information has plenty of spoilers. I mean lots, so they’re conveniently hidden unless you want to display them. Are you new and want to start from the beginning? Go to the first page! Do you just want to get knee-deep into the action (or drama)? Just read the summaries and you’ll be up to date in a couple minutes, then start reading from the last page, chapter, part or whatever! More power for you!

What else? The Characters page is on the works. It’ll be an extended version of the old “Cast” page and will provide a bit more information about all the relevant characters of the Robomeks universe, not only the main ones.

Well, that’s all for now. I’ll keep working on the file conversions of the chapters 2 and 3. Right now they’re unavailable. I also need to fix the navigation system and some other stuff. But, as I said, this is a work in progress. A transitional time for both the characters and the site.
