Bye, Robomeks. Hello, Robomeks!
The transition period for Robomeks has ended with the page published today. It also means the end of the this part of the new volume.
Short is sometimes too long

Goodbye!
Maybe some of you are scratching your heads wondering about the amount of pages this part was meant to have and has finally had. The original plan was to explain the transition from the “old” Robomeks to the “new” Robomeks through nine pages. They were designed to lessen the shock that was likely going to happen with the upcoming modifications, the ones unveiled today. But three weeks, the amount of time needed to publish the whole nine pages, was just too much waiting time for the main story to start with the actual publishing schedule.
The amount of information I wanted to drop in this part has been delivered already, if condensed. The five pages left out were a bit reiterative on some themes and didn’t offer too much new information compared to the ones published anyway. Though, if you’re curious about them you can see their storyboards at the end of this post.
Changing gear

Hello!
The new part, starting next Monday, will feature some final changes. Mainly, you’ll notice some modifications to the usual page layout and storytelling. I’ve come up with a small set of rules for myself and I want to test them. One of them is that pages won’t use more than 6 panels as average. That means the art will be bigger in most panels and hopefully less confusing.
The new part will also be a soft reset of Robomeks. I mean soft because while it’ll redefine some aspects they’ll be mainly aesthetic, as you’ve seen already. It also means the story told so far still applies, but I’ll assume that you’re new to Robomeks and aren’t aware of some information old time readers know already. In other words, I’ll try to make the story easy to pick up for a new reader without having to dig in the archives to know what’s all this about.
Another thing you’ll notice is a change in tone. The story will still have some dramatic moments, particularly later on, but I’ll try to stick to the lighthearted romantic sci-fi action feeling it was supposed to have from the beginning. I think you all came here expecting exactly that and, unfortunately, the story’s been drifting for too long. It’s time to tighten up some key elements again.
So, well, that’s all for the changes so far. Remember to check this site on Sunday for a new wallpaper featuring the new uniforms and equipment and a wink to their old look.
The lost pages
These are the storyboards of the pages that I excluded from part 00. I don’t know if you’ll understand anything from all those doodles, as they were done just for myself, but I think I owe this to those completists among you. The eighth page isn’t shown below, as it was the one that has been already published as fourth.
I hope you like where Robomeks is heading to. See you soon.
