    Could go either way. Might it be too easy if it did? Would it be throwing a feint to have asked this and it will?

    If our antagonist only has one kind of this bug, and it unlocks a progression towards sentience, it hasn’t been long enough to have gotten as far as say the robotic bandmembers did, yet. This is perhaps a minute. That leaves the possibility that a bot that works around nanotech requires nonstandard steps to interface with.

    Maybe our robot fiddler has more than one kind of bug. The robot anarchist’s conundrum: attack the locking system to hurt them more now, or reanimate and try to hurt them later.

      Remember that no “spider” was found when they dealt with the music bots. That may imply two different hacking methods, probably to achieve two different results. Anyway, good thinking there :)
