Vincent has a more active role now, as you can see. As I mentioned in the previous page he now is in charge of “locking” the robots in order to “deactivate” them making their transport to the workshop where the actual repair will take place easier (robots here can’t be deactivated anyway -more on this later in the story-, but their core functions can be blocked isolating the brain signals).
His new tools also allow him to connect to the brain of the robot semi-wirelessly (it doesn’t need a wire but the sensor in his hand needs to be in contact with the device to be connected to). This also means his “jacking in” expression is used here metaphoricaly. Also, while he’s placed his hand on the robot’s forehead that doesn’t mean it’s the only place he can connect to it. He could, in fact, touch any part of the robot body with the same results. The forefront, though, is usually desirable as it provides a higher chance for the connection to keep stable during the locking process.
You may notice, particularly if you’re a regular reader, that Vincent’s avatar has his old look. He just forgot to update it. And it’s also just an excuse for me to keep the old Robomeks look in this new volume.

Vincent tiene ahora un papel más activo, como puedes ver. Como mencioné en la página anterior se encarga ahora de “bloquear” los robots para “desactivarlos”, facilitando el transporte al taller donde la reparación real se llevará a cabo (los robots no pueden ser desactivados, de todos modos -más sober esto más adelante en la historia-, pero sus funciones principales pueden ser bloqueadas aislando las señales del cerebro).
Sus nuevas herramientas también le permiten conectar al cerebro del robot de forma semi-wireless (no necesita un cable pero el sensor en su mano necesita estar en contacto con el dispositivo al que se quiere conectar). Además, aunque ha colocado su mano en la frente del robot eso no significa que es el único lugar desde donde puede conectarse. Podría, de hecho, tocar cualquier parte del cuerpo del robot con los mismos resultados. Aún así, la frente es usualmente preferible ya que ofrece una más alta probabilidad de mantener la conexión estable durante el proceso de bloqueo.
Quizás notes, particularmente si eres un lector habitual, que el avatar de Vincent tiene su viejo look. Se olvidó de actualizarlo. Y es también una excusa que me permite mantener el viejo look de Robomeks en este nuevo volúmen.
