MAN: Keep your famous quotes for later. If they in the central get to know about this they'll send us straight to public relations.
Eknath has opened one of the grilles on the floor. Lots of cables are now exposed. There's also the extreme of a rusty pipe sticking out the wall.
EKNATH: Look, I think this was the one to blame. I guess it must be connected to the sewers somehow.
MAN: And what's that doing there, for starters?
EKNATH: Well, you know. Old building. Cutting costs. And this was a cellar after all.
The room trembles for a couple seconds.
*RRRMBLL*
MAN: Tell me it was the subway.
EKNATH: It was the subway.
The room trembles again. This time very violently and longer than before.
*RRRRRMMMMBBBLL*
MAN: Earthquake?
EKNATH: That or a lot of bugs crying out for vengeance.

The sub what?

Sub? What sub? All I see is subway.
And since when you guys don’t shorten every single word in the dictionary? What about the acronym obsession? And the four-letters-is-so-long-it-hurts rule? Jeez, you had to use the long form *just* for this one. Gonads!
Anyway, I could swear I heard some natives using sub instead of subway, so I didn’t check that
Well, I was wondering if there was a reason that the sub-basement should quake, since they were just talking about the cellar/basement. If it was the sub-basement, they’d have to have like six crates of cloned phones, ALL set to vibrate. Which would be kind of scary, if you could make an earthquake machine just by cleaning out Carphone Warehouse.

Heh, that’d be definitely fun. But as you’ll see extremely soon (if not already), the tremble was caused by another thing. Sorry for the confusion.
