The Catolate dispenser is standing there, like waiting for something. Sewer Boy looks for something inside his left pocket. Pulls out a card and introduces it inside a slot found in the chest of the enormous big yellow cat. He presses a button after that.
*CLK* *TAP*
CATOLATE: Hi, little friend. You've chosen random flavor. The result is...
Sewer Boy picks the random chocolate bar the Catolate dispenser has selected.
*K-KLANK* *TUP*
CATOLATE (off): Catolate Classic. Because there's no reason to start changing now, right?
Sewer Boy raises his right arm, showing the chocolate bar like a trophy.
CROWD (off): Oooh... The Oracle has spoken.
CROWD (off): Poor guys, they got a Classic.
CATOLATE (off): Thank you for the purchase. Enjoy yo-- >>KZZT<< One moment, please...
Sewer Boy looks surprised.

This has to be one of the more surreal sequences I’ve ever seen in a webcomic. The fact that it appears to fit right in with the rest of the (non-surreal) plot only makes it more bizarre.

You know, I’ve already seen the exact same scene in a french comic book…
Except it was a bubblegum dispenser, and they were rats, not humans.
(“Rat’s”, by Ptiluc. Or maybe it was “Pacush Blues”, by the same author. I’m afraid I don’t remember… It’s been a long time since I’ve read either!)
