Change of webcomic engine
You probably have noticed by now that this site doesn’t use ComicPress anymore and uses Webcomic+Inkblot instead. Some problems I encountered implementing the new features, both programming and designing wise, are the main reasons for the change. Webcomic also has most of the features available only in the latest versions of CP (like support for multiple comics, child themes, etc) with the benefit of an easier management and general aim for simplicity (which I share). I must admit this wasn’t a must change but it has definitely helped to lessen some of my headaches, and the radical change of several aspects of this site was a good opportunity to switch to this new engine anyway.
A few days ago I read somewhere that ComicPress isn’t going to be free starting from their next version. While that wasn’t the reason for my change it adds a new point to the benefits of using Webcomic instead. In any case, good luck for them. Creating Robomeks back in 2008 would have been way trickier without that tool.
Comic pages for part 00 and part 01 rebuilt
I’ve finally gone through the long, tedious and exhausting process of converting the pages from part 00 and part 01 to the standards initiated in part 02. This means that the image file of every single one of those hundred of pages has been enlarged and their texts reformatted to the new font I’m using, adjusting every balloon accordingly both for the English and Spanish version of Robomeks. I’ve also added bold format to some words and edited some of the dialogs that contained errors or needed an improvement.
Spanish version now separated
The spanish version of Robomeks is now in its own category. I’ve ditched the xlanguage plugin I’ve been using to manage the different languages available for Robomeks (that’s English and Spanish). Now, the spanish version is located in its own category, accessible through: http://catolate.com/robomeks-es/
